The Amazon is home to some of our planet’s super berries. Other than the popular acai berry, it’s lesser known cousin, the camu camu berry, also has bragging rights of its own! Known as the fruit with the highest natural source of vitamin C, camu camu boasts of 60x more Vitamin C than orange and 56x more than lemon.
Due to its high concentration of Vitamin C, camu camu is often added to skin care products to help brighten skin tone and protect skin from free radicals, which damage cells and cause signs of aging.
To reap the maximum benefits from the super berry, a teaspoon of camu camu powder can be consumed with juices or smoothies. Here’s a tip: camu camu tastes extremely sour so combine it with fruit juices that would balance the tartness, rather than enhance them!
