I’m excited to finally be able to tell you about our new range of juices that have been in the works for a long time, 3 years to be exact! We call this the Cold Pressured Juice range – it’s 100% cold pressed juice that’s been processed to extend its shelf life up to 60 days, compared to a 3 day shelf life of raw juice. This range will be stocked at major supermarkets, grocers and cafes, so if you see a bottle of HIC Juice sitting on a supermarket shelf, don’t be a stranger!
I had reservations about food processing technology. While I wanted to keep HIC Juice 100% raw, I also had a vision of making a healthier lifestyle simpler for everyone to achieve. In order to fulfil that, our juices have to be accessible enough to empower people to make a healthier choice. Hence, I’m thrilled that the technology for us to do this without compromising the integrity of our product finally made its way to our shores in 2017. Cold pressure processing uses high pressure, instead of heat, to eliminate bacteria and pathogens in the raw juice. This ensures that the heat-sensitive nutrients are retained in our juices.
This is a big step for a homegrown juice brand like ours. I still remember the days when we had to peel, cut, juice and deliver freshly pressed juices from door to door. While change is inevitable, I want to assure you that our commitment as a brand remains the same.
